It's A Spicy Cook Off

My husband loves seafood! If it was his choice he would eat it 7 days a week. I myself, don't care for it very much. But since this isn't a marriage of one, I make sure seafood is on the menu at least once a week.

The U.S. has some of the best managed fisheries in the world and I feel it's important to know where the seafood comes from. I prefer to buy domestic seafood when possible. One of the best ways get high quality, domestic, sustainable seafood is to go to local fishermen. The positiveness of domestic seafood sustainability, is it's local, it's fresh!

I wish I lived closer to New Orleans right now. The Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board (LSPMB) and NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) are presenting the Fifth Annual Great American Seafood Cook off Aug 2-3 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center within the Louisiana Foodservice EXPO and the Gulf Coast Seafood Pavilion.

I would like to go to learn some seafood cooking techniques, and my husband would love a chance to do the tasting :)

Like I said earlier, I try to have some kind of seafood once a week. Here is my Shrimp Alfredo recipe. Share you favorite recipe in a comment and I will pick the one I like best and post it with a link back to your site. It can be our own Spicy Cook off

Shrimp Alfredo:

1lb shrimp, cooked and peeled.
6oz pkg fettuccine.
2 tbsp margarine.
1 cup milk.
Quarter tsp black pepper.
1 tsp Greek seasoning.
Parmesan cheese.
Half cup water.

Alfredo Sauce:
2 cups whipping cream.
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated.
4 tbsp butter.

Over low heat, melt butter in a non-stick skillet. Stir in whipping cream and blend well. Add parmesan cheese and stir until sauce thickens. Do not boil. Thicken sauce with more cheese, or thin with more cream. The sauce should generally be creamy.

Combine milk, water and Alfredo sauce in a 2 quart saucepan. Add margarine, black pepper and Greek seasoning. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in cooked shrimp and simmer until heated.

Meanwhile, boil fettuccine pasta and drain. Blend in with shrimp alfredo sauce. Serve in a large bowl and sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.

I'm not lazy, just no time

I found this today, and I jumped for joy. A generator for lazy bloggers. I am NOT lazy, I just don't have a free minute. So here ya go...a new post generated just for me.

Holy crap! I just got hit on the head and recalled that I have not updated this since people stopped clapping and Tinkerbell died... You would not believe that my hands were chopped off and I was waiting for bionic ones. I prostrate myself in sorrow and beg thy forgiveness..

I am absolutely consumed with feeding the little people, learning to fart the theme to neighbours, just generally being a mother to my kids, my day is full to overflowing from the light through yonder window breaks to I am begging my kid to go to sleep or so help me God that kid will be decorating my wall, 'Duct tape still life'. I am not complaining though. but this damned rock is heavy.

I will try to remember I promised you I will make more of an effort to blog more often until the nice men in the white coats come back. You have my word! What do you mean you don't believe me?.

Need a lazy post, check it out here. Lazy Blogger

Also, please take the time to vote for KSHippychic. I really want her to win

Finally Here!

Everyone, please put the link to my new blog on your sites. SpicybugzWorld Don't remove the link for this blog, just add the new one. I already have you all linked over there,. I transferred all the posts from this blog over to my new one, but I am not going to get rid of this blog just yet.

So I have been working hard on my new blog trying to get it done and everything transferred over. I still have to add the new blog to things like EntreCard, and several other places. I'm not quite sure how to do all that yet.

You can click on the link above and tell what you think so far. Like my new theme? Hate it?
I like it.

I'm really tired today. Mighty Bug who is usually a very very good baby, decided he wasn't going to sleep last night. Ohh what a night. But on the other hand, Mini Bug who usually always gives me troubles about sleeping went right to bed last night and not a peep out of her till this morning. I think they are going to start ganging up on me and play tag team against me.

Anyways, check out my new site, link to it, and let me know what you think.

Planting Time

I have done a lot of landscaping since I moved in my new home. But not nearly enough, I have so many plans and ideas. The heat right now has it all at a stand still. There is no way I can dig and plant in this heat and humidity.

But, until the heat cools down and I can finish what I want to do in my front yard, I can at least work out on my lanai. I have 3 nice size Outdoor Planters out there now. Two have Majesty Palms planted in them and the Third has a giant Bird of Paradise in it.

I like unique things. I don't want the same thing t
hat every Tom Dick and Sally has. So I was looking on line for Outdoor Planters and even Indoor Planters. I have 2 Cane Palms in my home, right now, but I would like to have more large plants in the house. I also have a Coral Cactus that needs transplanted into something bigger. I need something really unique for that because it is just a beautiful unique plant.

So, like I said, I was searching on line for more or less High End Planters, and came across Planterixchange.com. What a fabulous site. They have everything I was looking for, and then some. They have so much to chose from, I found thi
ngs I didn't even know I wanted haha..like this water fountain that will look fabulous on the wall out on my Lanai. I love Dolphins and this is perfect.

Sleep? Sleep? What the Hell is Sleep!

I had to get up, out of a sound sleep, because Mighty Bug was crying. Mini Bug is singing in her bed, and the house is not sleepable (is that even a word?). It's 2:22 am. Now you know why I am so, bitchy. Lack of sleep after running all day taking care of a toddler and an infant can do that to a woman.

So I got Mighty Bug settled down (crossing fingers) and I begged and pleaded for Mini Bug to please hush up, or at least whisper her songs. Went outside to have a smoke (keep the preaching to yourselves, I don't want to hear about it.) and now I am in front of my computer for a minute or two before I attempt to lay back down to the comfort of my bed that is calling my name.

I open up this page and I am greeted by the smiling face of Ms. Roxiticus. She has graced me with her presence on my sidebar today. I am always honored when Ms Roxy advertises her pretty face on my blog.

This is what Roxy has to say about herself: She is a Former disc jockey, current investment banker & mom-of-2 reporting on the neighboring desperate housewives or whatever else the milkman may have delivered today. Best of Mendham Bernardsville Chester Peapack-Gladstone Far Hills and Morris County NJ.

She is also a regular dropper on my blog. Usually in first place, but sometimes MamaFlo takes the lead. I have fun watching the two of them going back and forth, from first to second place. I adore both of those women, and their blogs. If you haven't met Roxy yet, click on her smiling face and get to know her. In fact, click on it anyways...tell her Spicy sent ya. Maybe she will share a Roxy beer with you!

Local Searches at Your Fingertips

What happens when Citysearch.com, Yelp.com, Yellowpages.com, and Superages.com. partners with Local.com? You get a power one stop local search engine!

You can visit one site, to get all the power of all these sites. You can find anything, from business contact information, business hours, driving directions and even reviews, you can also put up your own review!

I never use the local yellowpages book that I get every year thrown at the bottom of my driveway. Actually I get a ton of them, that end up in the trash. I find it much simpler and faster to find what I want on line.

When I moved down here to FL, last Nov, the first thing I did was search for local restaurants. This is what I got on my first local search on Local.com! A total of 1,642 Restaurants. I was in eating out happy land!

Restaurants (1642)
Pizza Restaurants (404)
Fast Food Restaurants (309)
Sandwich Restaurants (184)
Bakeries (165)
Bar And Grill Restaurants (160)
Caterers & Catering (148)
Coffee Shops & Tea Shops (134)
Specialty Stores (128)
Chinese Restaurants (117)
More...

Another thing that is very helpful, at least for me and my family, are the reviews. I do read the reviews. Saves me time and money, by not going to a restaurant that others have reviewed as poor. I also leave reviews. If a place has excellent food and service I make sure I put a review up stating so, if it sucks, I put that up also.

Looking for the Blogging QA team

Quality Posts. Who decides what a Quality Post is? Is there a team out there, A Blogger Quality Assurance Team, that inspects blogs and decides what passes and what doesn't ?

Wanna know what I think..I'm sure you don't, but I'm gonna tell you anyways. I think, it's all bullshit!! And those of you that think you write quality posts, because your post is the size of a freaking novel, and you like to use 10 dollar words, well, you bore me. To tears! I read the first paragraph and my eyes start to glaze over. I start to fade away into daydream land. Say what you have to say in as few words as possible. Make your point clear, and to the point. That is a Quality Post! If you want to write a book...write a freaking book. It's called a post, not chapter 1.

Since I have joined Entre Card I have came across so many "how to's" I can't stand it. Basically they all say the exact same damn things, only reworded. I have also noticed..they think they are brilliant! Yawn.

I beg to differ with this idea of Quality Post chit that is flying around because of Entre Cards new Partner with Sezwho...comment and get rated bullshit. You want a lot of comments..find like minded people. Don't expect people who are blogging about Tech chit to want to comment on gardening. Don't expect a blogger who blogs about programming, to want to comment on a mommy blog. You want comments, take the time to find blogs that are in the same catagory as you. Find like minded people, drop a comment. Build your own social network with like minded people..those people will enjoy your posts. To them, you will have a Quality Blog.

I myself, don't have the time to do this. At least not at the present time. I do try to comment, I enjoy getting comments, I enjoy the people I have come to know here. I am sorry I can't spend more time commenting on their blogs, but hopefully, they are cutting me some slack. Being 50, raising babys all over again, is no piece of cake. Some days are good, some are from hell. I do what I can...and I am being dead serious when I say.....

I don't give a chit if you think I write quality posts or not. I don't blog for YOU, I blog for myself. I blog to get things off my chest, to share my joys when they come. To share what ever knowledge I have etc etc, it's for my enjoyment, period.

I swear if I hear Quality Post one more time, I'm gonna scream. Who in the hell died and made you the Judge of what is Quality and what isn't in Bloggersland. Get over yourselves.

This post is for all the bloggers out there, that are having fun blogging and don't give a rats azz what others think about their blog. Let the self claimed "Blogging Guru's" fight amongst themselves over who is the best and rate each other to death.

Smile, Now I feel better. I'm off to change chitty diapers, mop up spilt milk, bath the kids and start dinner, fold some laundry and maybe get to go to the store to buy more diapers and milk.

Try to have a good day, while your head spins wondering if THIS is a Quality Post. >Snicker<

Light Fixtures

We are soon going to be remodeling our FL home. I'm not really looking forward to it, because as my old readers know, I was remodeling my PA home for over 3 years before it was finally finished, only to then move out of state.

We want to remodel, and change some things to this home, because we are going to sell it. Why? Well, because when we moved here we were a family of 3. Now we are a family of 4 and we need a bigger home, and I want to be closer to my mom, so that she can help me out. I really really need some help. Being able to send Mini Bug over to grammy's house while I do my housework would be a blessing, and even a bigger blessing if she lived closer to me. Like, down the street closer! But not next door close..that wouldn't work. That might drive us both insane in the membrane.

So, We are thinking of doing so small remodeling to spruce the place up and get a good selling price. One thing I know I want is new light fixtures. We have ceiling fans in each room of the house, but they, in my opinion are just plain Jane ceiling fans, I want something that shouts, WOW, and with a tropical feeling.

So I was searching the different sites for ceiling light fixtures and I found this over at Farreys.com. I absolutely love this for my living room.

They have so many to chose from, I'm like a kid in a candy store, only it's a homeowner in a light fixture store haha.

I am also looking for kitchen light fixtures and even bathroom light fixtures . Just changing the light fixtures, can change the look of a room. I think I can find everything I need right from Farreys. They don't have hundreds of different kinds of light fixtures, they have thousands. Everything you need from bath, kitchen, even outdoor. Their search tool was great, I was able to search around their site quickly and with ease. Just typed in what I was looking for, and poof, there it was.

So, now I am off to grab Dr. Corny's wallet and credit cards, and start ordering.

Haloscan

I like Haloscan and I have never had a single problem with it. That is until I tried to uninstall it. I can't for the life of me figure out how to uninstall it from this blog. I want to go with Sezwho, but can't until I get Haloscan removed from this blog.

I looked all over Haloscan and I can't find directions anywhere on how to remove it. Any techies out there that can help me out?

How Financially Fit Are You?

I was thinking about Debt consolidation today. Thinking it might be wise if I consolidated all my debt into one payment a month. I was searching around on line and came across this site.

Add Video

So I took their quiz. Here are my results.

I feel good. My results are better than the one they use for display. Woohooo.

This is a good site. Everyone should go there and check their Credit IQ. You can get a FREE Financial Check up, like I did. Free,tips to improve your financial stability, Free offers to help you save money.

I really liked their personalized tips for me. Like having a savings of 6 months salary, in case bad things happen, so I can be prepared. I always thought it was 3 was savings, but I was wrong, and it makes sense.

Learning to use a budget, not only make one, but live by it.

When you get extra cash, pay off your debits. Don't blow it on a shopping spree.

The above were some of the expert advice I got from BillsIQ. Click on the link and see how they can help you gain better financial health and security. I'm glad I did, I learned a couple of new things there. It's free..why not.

Baby Making

I was in the kitchen making dinner, listening to the baby fussing, yelling at Mini Bug to stop running, and sort of daydreaming.

While standing there I remembered a conversation I had listened to a couple of months back. It was a young woman around 19-20. She was discussing her live in boyfriend with a male friend of hers. She has a baby to this boyfriend and wondering if she should stay with him or not.

She made this statement. It was ok to have a boy to him because it doesn't really matter if a boy isn't cute or grows up not handsome, but I wouldn't want to have a daughter with him. A girl with his looks would be awful.

Now I am thinking, do people chose their life companion based solely on what they think the children they make together will look like? Did you think about this before you married or had children?

Posh is my Entre Card renter for the day. Thank you Posh, I greatly appreciate you advertising on my site. Everyone please stop by http://www.poshmama.com and say hello if you get a chance.

Also, be sure to let all of your female friends know that you don't have to be a "Mom" to be a "Posh Mama". They know there is a bit of Posh in every woman.

They are a positive and upbeat community made up of women from all around the world from all walks of life. Go and join them for friendship and fun!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How was everyones weekend? I hope you all had a lot more fun than I did. I spent my weekend with a rented carpet cleaner and tons of cleaning products. We gave Mini Bug to her grammy all day Saturday and went to work on our home. Every single room got scrubbed top to bottom, including the carpets. Hubby ran the machine, I scrubbed everything else. My home is spic and span clean, and my body feels like it got ran over by a mac truck. What sucks about this is, I know by the end of the week, you wont even know I did all this hard work. That's how it is when you have wee wee little ones growing up. I wanted the carpets cleaned, too many drinks, etc have been spilt, etc means mini bug peeing on the floor while trying to potty train. Gross yes. If your a parent and can't relate, there is something wrong with you.
So, I have no interesting news. I cleaned, I hurt, same ole chit, just a different day.
Tell me all the exciting things you did this weekend, so I can feel double bad about myself! I'm almost positive that everyone on this earth has a life, except me!!!
Dirty Veggies.
You gotta check this out! Hippychic's garden is having an orgy!Not only that, she is having a contest about it!
"Here's whatcha gotta do:
Write a post on your blog about her KSHIPPYCHIC: GARDEN MYSTERIES AND NAME THE PUMPKIN!! post and include the link to her Veggie Contest Post. Then leave a comment at her blog and tell her what you think she should name her giant horny pumpkin! She will pick a winner who will get a goodie gift basket packed full of surprises from her.
Only Hippchic could plant a horny veggie garden with tomato and squash doing the wild thing...with an exhibitionist pumpkin! I think she should name her Pumpkin, Cindy because it looks like it's going to be big enough to be Cinderellas carriage.
Holiday Vacations
I have never left the United States. I have vacationed all over the United States, and been to a lot of niffty places here, but I have never left this soil.
We got our passports last fall, intending to do some traveling during vacation. Two things happened. One the passports didn't come in time even though we did pay for expedite processing, and Two, hubby was offered a job he couldn't refuse, and we had to relocate. So there was no vacation for us last year. Although moving to Florida seemed like we were on permanent vacation.
Dr. Corny gave me a heads up last night, that we might be traveling this year. Kind of a working vacation. There are several countries that his company might be sending him to.
I am hoping that it's over the holiday seasons. I would love to be able to visit other countries during the Holidays. That would be a super duper present.
So, the first thing this morning, I went searching for Luxury Skiing holidays deals. IF we go, I want to do the Holidays with Style, that's for sure! Luxury ski chalets would be a dream come true, like the courchevel chalet but we aren't going to France, so that is out.
I found this company on line, SuperTravel, that promises to find you the best best chalets and
hotels in top ski resorts. Sounds good to me. Like I said, I am not traveled, and I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for the best places to go. SuperTravel, can take care of all of that for me. If I wanted to go to St Anton, Austria they could find me the best luxury Hotels or Chalets, and since we will be going, on the company's dime, of why not go for the best right? But I don't think Austria is on the agenda either. I can dream can't I? I do know of two countries that we will be going to, but I'm not sure about the rest, so maybe I should just put this on hold until I know for sure. I also have to gt a passport of Mightybug. Everyone has one but him, because he is the newest member of the Bug family.
I will keep you all informed on our travel plans as they unfold and become more clear to us.
MamaFlo is Number 1
MamaFlo has finally made it to the top of my Spicy Drops! Roxy was at the head since the day I joined EntreCard. Now MamaFlo has finally made it to the top of the list.
MamaFlo had me at hello. I instantly clicked with her and her blog. She brings up a lot of good topics and sometimes even makes ya think!!!
She just bought a new spiffy camera, and of course I am green with jealously. Not only abotu the camera, but the fact she knows how to use a camera. I have one, I suck.
So, stop on over at MamaFlo's and congratulate her on her new prize possession! Let her know I sent ya.
Motorcycle Safety
I know what I am buying one of my sons this year for Christmas!
I found a great webstore that was created by bikers who worked with a bunch of engineers to create the best motorcycle safety clothing out there. Who would know more, than an experienced motorcycle rider, what is in the best interest of a bike rider?
The problem I have is AH son#2 doesn't like to wear a helmet. We have gotten into many many heated arguments over this. I have personally seen with my own eyes, wrecks where, the riders brains where splattered all over the highway. But you know youth, they think they are immortal, and things like that only happen to other people.
So, he is getting a new helmet this year. I was looking at the Shoei Modular Helmets but the Nolan n102 helmets discount is looking good also.
I am thinking he would like the yellow one better. His bike is yellow. I do know this, he is going to wear it, like it or not. I've had enough.
I was looking around, BikerHighway, and seen a pair of boots I know he would like, so he will get a pair of those as well. He also likes LED Accent Lighting, so I might as well throw that in there too. I personally can't stand LED Accent Lighting, but hey, the gifts are for him, not me right.
I Need New Glasses
I told you all how my eyes are getting worse. I can't see with my glasses on, I can't see with them off. I take them off all the time when I have to look at anything up close, but yet I still have to squint when I do. Doesn't make sense. Getting Lasik is out of the question for this year. Too many bills..
Not only are my eyes getting worse, but every time I take them off, Mini Bug is either stepping on them or twisting them. They are a mess, and I look ridiculous because they now sit sideways on my face.
I don't have visiion insurance. So for me to get new glasses is going to cost a pretty penny. I was kind of excited about finding zennioptical.com.
They offer stylish prescription glasses on line, for low low prices. That's because they sell their own manufactured frames with no middle man. I'm going to get an eye exam and then see if I can't get a new pair of glasses from zennioptical.com. I will let you all know how it turns out.
Twirling Head
This is my day, wake up to baby crying. Hurry out of bed to change him and feed him, burp him. Put him in his swing. Mini Bug is now crying, go running to her, change her, brush her hair, brush her teeth, try to coax food into her.
Throw a load in the washer, take the load out of the dryer, that I didn't get to yesterday...put them on the couch to fold them. Fold clothes...put in piles on the couch. Phone rings, run to answer phone. Walk back into living room. Clothes are all over the floor, with Mini Bug standing there looking at me, like..what's wrong! Fold clothes again. Start putting them away. Phone rings. The clothes I didn't get to are now back on the floor! Fold again and put away.
Go back to laundry room, put clothes from washer into dryer, load the washer again. Pick up Mini Bugs toys off the living room, then look for a channel that has something she will watch on it. Go into Mini Bugs room..see's she has her toys all over the floor, walk back out.
Try to do some work on line, so that I can make the money to put Mini Bug in Daycare. Mini Bug doesn't like this. Stands next to me crying. Take Mini Bug and put her swimming suit and life jacket on, and take her outside to swim for about an hour. Might Bug is now crying, and something fouler than foul hits the air. Change Might Bug's mighty stink. Feed and Burp MightBug, put him on a blanket on the floor. Watch him attempting to crawl.
Get Lunch ready for Mini Bug, ask her if she is hungry, yes. Put her in her highchair, crying starts. Doesn't want to eat. I put the food in her mouth..she chews, I try to walk away, she crys. I put more food in her mouth, she chews..and this goes on for about 20 min. I have enough...give her a drink and put her in her crib. More crying. Get the clothes out of the dryer..do the whole process again. Think about dinner...decided screw dinner. Nobody is eating today!
Come and sit down at my computer, head is pounding, my eyes are now crossed I think. Read my email..do a post, try to drop some cards on ecard, phone rings.
It is 3:38 and I am exhausted. There of course was a lot more going on today, like mopping floors, vacummning floors, general cleaning while dealing with 2 little ones. So, if you wonder why I am snarky. There you have it. I don't have the patience to be ubber kind and sweet. I only have the time to say what I have to say, and if it comes out short and harsh, it's because I am feeling short and harsh. I think I'm going to put a donate button on my blog so those that feel generous can donate to Mini Bugs Preschool fund. I need a break. She needs interaction with other children.
Press Release:
Taking Control: Future Therapies for a Host of Serious Diseases May Be Found in Women's Menstrual Blood
July 07, 2008: 01:28 PM EST
OLDSMAR, Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With today’s hectic lifestyle, where most women are juggling careers, family, relationships, and a host of activities, the idea of possibly facing a serious illness in the future is not something that readily comes to mind -- especially when a woman is in the prime of her life. But what most women don’t know, is that the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, may be found within her own body -- in vital stem cells, which can now be harvested from her own menstrual blood.
Now, thanks to the revolutionary research and technology of C’elle, a service dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. With C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. These self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments, such as anti-aging therapies.
"C’elle enables and empowers a woman to take control of her future health, and possibly of those genetically closest to her, in a fast, painless and stress free way," said Michelle Kay, Marketing and Sales Manager for C’elle. "We live in exciting times, as science and technology are discovering how extremely valuable menstrual blood stem cells really are, and the enormous treatment potential they represent for future therapies. C’elle’s ongoing research is supporting these promising findings."
For more information about C’elle, please call 1-877-892-3553 or visit www.celle.com.
Stuffed Cabbage
This is one of my favorites. Did you all know I'm Polish?
I'm going to give you this recipe as if you are standing right next to me and I'm talking to you.
Buy a large head of cabbage and Freeze it. My gg grandmother and down used to boil the head of cabbage until it got soft. Made the whole house stink. Not only that, you would have to drain it and wait till it cooled before you could roll the leaves. I take a short cut. I freeze the cabbage then thaw it, and the cabbage leaves are nice and soft. No difference in my book.
Cut out the core and separate your leaves. I always throw away the first layer of leaves, I think they are yucky.
I'm going to assume you know how to roll a cabbage leaf. If you don't ask someone else...all I can tell you is..put the meat on the big end, roll once, fold the sides over and continue rolling. My mother used to put the meat in and roll the whole thing up and then tuck the ends in on each side. I could never do that, I always poked a hole thru the thing and ended up with a mess.
This is my meat filling...and everyone I know, loves these when I make them. Maybe you will, maybe you wont.
2 pounds of ground chuck, sirloin, whatever you can afford.
Dice an onion into small pieces
Add rice, (I never measure I just pour it in...I guess around a cup or less)
bread crumbs..again, I don't measure, hahahha, maybe about a cup
1 egg
about a half cup of milk
Of course salt and pepper.
Mix it all very very well. Now get rolling, and line them up side by side in the pan, I always have several rows. I make a lot.
After you have them in your pan, fill the pan with Spicy V-8 juice. Cover with Foil and bake at 350 for several hours. You want the flavors to all incorporate and the juice to thicken, the meat to be very tender. I would say about 3 hours.
These are very very good. Happy Eating.
Mac Poker Anyone?
When I find useful interesting things, I like to pass them along. So here is something for you Mac users out there.
I like to play games on line. Silly games, nothing serious. Sometimes some free poker. My dad on the other hand, LOVES to play poker. On Line, Off Line, just loves to play. So I was searching around and trying to find him some good sites to play poker on. What I did find was an excellent site that composed all of the Poker for Mac sites together.
So I sent him a link for Mac Poker, He can then send the link to his buddy who has a Mac Computer, and they love to play poker together. In fact on the 4th of July, after the fireworks were done, those two, said good-bye to everyone to go play poker!
So of course I started digging around the Site, to see what they had to offer. The first thing I want to say is the page is quick loading and easy to navigate. This is important because someone like my dad who isn't really computer literate, will be able to find what he wants fast and easy with no problems. Which means less problems for me, because he wont be calling me every 5 minutes asking me how to do this or that.
The games and sites that I think he and his buddy will be interested in are, Fulltilt Poker, which offers a 100% Bonus Offer of up to $600, but of course you can also play for free! They also have tips from the Pros. If I was to play, this is the site I would chose for myself.
I also liked,
Pacific Poker, which is offering a Bonus: 25% up to $100 plus $1000 freeroll
You might also want to check out
PokerStars, where you can get a review of PokerStars. bonus's and how to play Poker Stars. Very useful information here.
Online Casino Bonuses has all the leading bonus's that a new online poker player can use to make sure they are getting the best bang for their buck.
So, if you a serious online Mac Poker Player, or even just want to play for free and fun, looking for all the best sites then I think Mac Poker would be your best bet. I know my dad's going to be busy on that site.
New Diet
This post probably isn't going to win me any brownie points, but I have never been one to hold back and I have found a new way to lose weight!
I was surfing blogs today, while bouncing Mighty Bug on my leg and looking for ear plugs to tune out Mini Bugs constant ear piercing singing. I came across one, two, even three, recipe blogs. The pictures and recipes made me want to vomit on the spot. Who in the hell eats that shit? I am not going to mention anyone's blog (like I can even remember the darn names) nor do I remember what the food was even called...but I can tell you this. The last one I looked at, had a plate with a pile of crap on it, that looked like green vomit, or a close resemblance would be the contents in the baby's dirty diaper. It was so gross looking, I couldn't believe it was on a plate. Not only was it on a plate, there was a recipe for it.
What are you people freaking eating?? Better question is WHY? Why would you not only make, but then eat something that resembles something that came back out of your body? Oh freaking gag me sideways.
So now, every time I get hungry, I'm going to surf recipe blogs. I'm sure to get thin fast because for every 1 that has something delicious on it, there are 3 that will want to make me gag!
What kind of food do I eat you ask? Normal freaking food! I think in the near future I will teach you what real food is. I feel so bad that you are eating vomit. And apparently enjoying it.
Good Reading and Things I Forgot
You want some good reading? I came across this blog Monkey Fables and Tales when I first signed up with Entre Card. It was love at first read and I put it in my favorites immediately.
When I seen that Monkey wanted to advertise on my blog, I couldn't approve it fast enough. So do yourself a favor and go over and check out his blog.
So, I guess your wondering what happened with Mini Bug at her last Dr visit. I forgot to blog about it, because..well....I forgot! She got a clean bill of health! The Dr was great, and said over and over again, how beautiful she is. Like I didn't already know that. Anyways, about her speech. He said to give her 6 more months, that she is only 2 1/2 and it's not her fault if she looks like she is 5..that doesn't make her five. I kinda insisted she be tested anyways, to get family members off my back, so he wrote me a script to have her tested. So, I will have to arrange to do that soon. At least I'm not worried. She also got a shot. Now dig this...when we got home from the Dr office, she started to repeat every dang word I said. No matter what I said, she repeated it perfectly. I kinda think, that she was listening very closely to what the Dr and I were talking about, how I was concerned about her not talking. Then she got a shot. I think she thought, oh crap, I'm not talking and they stuck a needle in me. Maybe I better start talking!! That evening, I was talking to my mother on the phone and telling her what the Dr said and how the day went, when out of nowhere, Mini Bug started yelling...What The F...What The F.
she was saying the f word very clear and very loud. I had said that sentence earlier in the day when something had happened to really upset me, and it just came out of my mouth. My mother said..what did she say? I said I'm not sure. I was very sure...but then Mini Bug kept saying it over and over again, and my mother could hear her. My mom said, oh bug, you better stop her right now. I said...see mom..she can talk!!!! She wasn't impressed. I did not say anything to Mini Bug, because I didn't want to make a big issue about it, because we all know, if you don't want a kid to do something, they will!!!! I just know I have to watch my garbage mouth and never say words like that again around her. Needless to say...my mother isn't impressed with me! Oh well. The kid can talk! Guess I wont be winning any mommy of the year award anytime soon! Ask me if I really Give a F!
Bing Bang Now Get the Weight Off
Whew, I am just now getting a minute for myself. Yesterday was a blast, hahhaha really!
We went over to my parents like I said we would, and my sister and her children were there, and my parents neighbors came over also. Mini Bug was in her glory and the center of attention. She got to play and swim all day.
We cooked out, and everyone brought something. I was asked to bring my home made buns. The food and company was great.
Afterwards the neighbors all got together and set off fireworks. It was a wonderful display. I had forgotten to charge my camera before we left, so when I went to take pictures I had a dead camera, but hubby took these ones with his blackberry. Not bad.
So today, I am feeling like a total lard butt. Too much potato salad and deviled eggs, hamburgers and hot dogs and all the mouth watering sweets. So now I have to get it in gear. Time to lose weight!
My girl friend back in PA told me that she has started to take hoodia pills. She said they don't make her jittery, and that they were an all natural and safe formula with no side effects.
I need something that will make me lose my appetite, because anymore I seem to be a human garbage disposal. Maybe I will give them a try. I will talk to my doctor first tho.
But what ever choice I make, losing these extra pounds is a must. There are no more reasons to wait, and no more eating holidays until Thanksgiving...so maybe I can be thin again before Turkey Day! Wish me luck.
Happy 4th Everyone
We will be spending Friday at my mothers for a fun day of bbq'ing and swimming. My sister and her family are still here so it should be a fun time for all. Especially for me, since my sister adores my angels and will no doubt spend the day with them..which in turn will give me a much needed break.
I hope everyone enjoys their long holiday weekend and party's safely! Don't Drink and Drive.
Substance Abuse
As most of my readers already know, my second son is an addict. I was searching around on line for Substance Abuse Rehab, while the angels were sleeping, and found a place I wish I could put him in. Unfortunately it's for California Treatment, and I live in FL, if I did live in CA this is the place I would try to get him into.
The Narconon Drug Rehab Program has a 30 acre campus, in a relaxed atmosphere for people of all ages. Their Drug Addiction Rehab follows a 4 step program, that I think would be ideal for my son. I want him back the way he was before he ever started taking drugs, and Narconon has the program that I believe could do that.
I like the idea of their Sauna Based Detox Program that cleans the body of all chemical residues.
I found it very interesting that they use Educational Therapy to help a person gain back their self control. In my opinion, drug addiction is all about self control. I tell my son all the time, the drug owns you. Of course this upsets him deeply, but I am way past the time of trying to sugar coat anything with him. It does own him, and somehow he needs to be able to get control of himself again.
Of course he is a grown man, and I can't force him to do anything, nor can I put him in rehab. It has to come from him and a strong desire to want to overcome this. I'm not stupid, and I know that he will probably have to hit total rock bottom before this can happen. I just wish it didn't have to be that way. I wish I could turn back time. I wish I could have my son back.
If you live in CA and need help or know someone who needs help, visit Narconon or you can call them TOLL FREE: 1-866-822-8323.
